Sidney Lanier
Born in Macon on February 3, 1842, Sidney Lanier became well known throughout the South as a musician, lawyer, soldier, and most importantly, a poet. His most popular works of poetry are “Song of the Chattahoochee” and “The Marshes of Glynn”.
